– Vi glæder os til at kunne præsentere Rasmus Rinhack, lyder det fra kunstforeningen Kunst Aabenraa (Kunst elsker Aabenraa).

Lørdag den 23. maj 2026 åbner kunstudstillingen ”Vendepunkter” i kunstforeningens lokaler på Skolevej i Aabenraa.

Rasmus Rinhack har skabt en række helt nye værker til lejligheden, hvor farverne har fået frit spil. Rinhack har taget udgangspunkt i et stramt formsprog, som står helt skarpt op mod de ekspressive farver. Det resulterer for eksempel i, at udsigten fra et vindue bliver reduceret til de geometriske elementer, som
kunstneren finder interessante. De forenklede motiver bliver så grundlaget for arbejdet med farverne og deres sammenspil.

Til udstillingen har kunstneren også udtænkt to skulpturelle kunstinstallationer, der tager udgangspunkt i malerierne og i kunstforeningens rå lokaler.

Rasmus Rinhack’s universe is full of dynamic energies, visual surprises, and untraditional combinations. In the midst of it all though, the struggle between opposite movements is lurking: fantasy and that and those, who are trying to break it.

A contradiction with roots dating back to romanticism, a period in human history where freedom of the individual and the right to express oneself the way one wanted, faced the empowered and the authority’s attempt to undermine it. To the period where the appreciation of fantasy seriously kicked in. The artist’s creativity was now valued higher than old dead teachings and rote learning.

Although Rasmus Rinhack is a young artist, who is obviously inspired by history, it is this very old conflict, that drives his art: the struggle between fantasy and power. The fight against lost imagination, the conformity, the destruction of nature, and the blind exercise of power is the very core in Rasmus Rinhack’s art universe.

When the struggle seems hopeless, it is the art pieces themselves, the lively imagination, they express, which could be the answer.

The creativity, the free expression’s overpowering force as reformists of society?

Who knows?

It appears that Rasmus Rinhack argues exactly that.
